Motorcycle Accident Injury Claim

Settlement: £42,000

Our client was riding his motorcycle and turned into a petrol station forecourt. He stopped as there was a car approaching on the incorrect side of the entrance/exit. Unfortunately, the driver of the car was not looking ahead and did not see our client and drove into our client’s motorcycle.

What Happened?

The client’s motorcycle was knocked over whilst our client was still on it. The driver not realising she had hit our client then drove onto the motorcycle, the weight of the motorcycle pushed into our client causing injury.

How We Helped

Liability was denied by the driver of the car who said that our client entered the forecourt on the wrong side and rode into the car. Unfortunately, the petrol station did not keep CCTV footage of the accident. We did not accept the car driver’s account of the accident; it did not seem plausible that had our client drove into the car as the driver had suggested, the car was unlikely to have mounted and drove onto the motorcycle. Further, photographs taken shortly after the accident supported our client’s version of events. We issued Court proceedings on behalf of our client who sustained unfortunate injuries.

Outcome

Shortly after we issued Court proceedings, our client settled his claim for £42,000 in addition, the other party’s insurers also paid for the damage to our client’s motorcycle.
