We also have another specialist team who look spinal injuries, head injuries, psychiatric injuries and catastrophic injuries.
Alongside injures at work all employers are required by law to protect employees from exposure to dangerous chemicals in the workplace or in the course of employment, and are required to put in place good working practices and processes which will minimise the risk of injury or illness caused by your occupation.
In order to succeed with your claim you will need to prove that your accident occurred as a result of your employer’s failure to take reasonable care for your safety. We will advise you at the outset whether or not we feel you have a valid claim, and explain all of the procedures involved.
Our workplace accident team is experienced in dealing with all types of accidents including those that may happen at your employer’s premises, other premises or premises where you are working as an agency worker.
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
RSI is a general term used to describe the pain felt in muscles, nerves and tendons caused by repetitive movement, overuse, awkward working postures, insufficient job rotation or insufficient recovery time. The condition mostly affects parts of the upper body, such as the forearm, elbow, wrist, hands, neck and shoulders. The symptoms can vary, but often include pain or tenderness, stiffness, tingling or numbness, or cramp.
If you develop these symptoms and you think that the problem may be related to your job, you may be entitled to compensation.
Claims can be made in respect of injuries, diseases and conditions sustained in the workplace. Conditions such as these are normally caused over a period of time through exposure to harmful materials or unsafe working practices or environments.
Our specialist team can advise on claims relating to the following matters:
- Chronic back pain
- COPD claims
- Noise induced hearing loss/tinnitus
- Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome
- Occupational Asthma
- Vibration White Finger
It may be possible to make a claim from the government for Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) in relation to a number of occupational diseases such as silicosis, asbestosis, occupational asthma and dermatitis.
If you suffer past or on-going wage loss, or incur costs such as travelling expenses, damage to possessions or prescription fees as a result of your accident, we will include these losses in your claim. Claiming compensation for your accident isn’t about a so called ‘compensation culture’ – it is about your right to compensation when you have suffered injury and loss due to the negligence of others.
