Tinsdills have been striding ahead over the last couple of months, taking part in various activities to raise funds for DMH.
In early April a team of 24 Tinsdills staff members took part in the Dougie Mac 5K event which took place at World of Wedgewood estate in Barlaston. Many team members had never run competitively before, but now have set their sights firmly on the Dougie Mac 10K in September. All staff members who took part commented of how proud they were to be part of such a fantastic fundraising opportunity.
Peter Hamilton, Managing Director and participant in the event said:
“It was a fantastic day with a great community atmosphere. The support given to each was really heart warming and I am proud to have been part of the day”
The team managed to raise a combined total of £724.22 from their efforts at the 5K event.
Following on from this, on the 18th May, Tinsdills held their annual AGM meeting and evening team building event. This year it was decided to hold a quiz and all monies collected for team entries to the quiz would be donated to DMH. From this Tinsdills managed to raise an additional £65.
The most recent fundraising effort was taken on by David Morgan, one of Tinsdills trainee solicitors currently working in the Personal Injury and Compensation Department who trained to compete in his first half marathon, taking on the Potters Arf in early June. Although after witnessing David’s performance in the DMH 5K training was hardly necessary! David flew the course as expected in a time of 1h:57m:30s and in doing so managed to raise a fabulous £180 for DMH.
David Morgan said:
“I was happy with how the run went, it was my first half marathon and it was tough, especially the last three miles or so which felt like it was all uphill.
The atmosphere was great though and the support from the public along the course helped me get through it.
My target was to run it within two hours so I was please to come in with the time I did although it was touch and go for a bit when the two hour pace setter went past me about 10 miles in.
I chose to raise money for DMH to help support them in all the great work they do for local people experiencing extremely difficult times.”
All of the fantastic effort put in by all members of the Tinsdills Team through these events has helped to bring in total of £969.22. Through the support of the firm and members of Team Tinsdills out fundraising we have raised a current total of £6351.22.
Watch this space, there is more fundraising to come!
Other donations have been made by sponsoring the DMH 5K Event, entering the DMH golf day and taking part in the DMH raffle.
