Helen Jackson

Helen Jackson

Senior Associate

After qualifying as a Solicitor in 1989, Helen has specialised in Family Law for 30 years, based in North and mid-Staffordshire but also representing clients in courts across the Midlands and occasionally beyond.

She has been a member of Resolution for many years and her practice reflects its values, focusing on the needs of families & children, and working constructively for the best outcomes wherever possible. We are told that she has a reputation for being firm but fair.

Helen firmly believes that identifying the right process for particular clients and their families can affect the outcome, and will certainly affect their experience of the legal process and costs. She was one of the first solicitors in Staffordshire to train as a Collaborative Family Lawyer. She is now one of two solicitors at Tinsdills who can offer Collaborative Family Law, in which we address all issues directly with your former partner, and you each have your own lawyer sitting right by your side.

She has also practised as a family mediator, so she is well placed to support clients through mediation. She can provide effective representation in divorce proceedings or court proceedings dealing with property & finance or children, to get the best outcomes for you and your family.

Modern families come in all shapes and sizes. Helen has experience in divorce, financial issues, pensions, cohabiting relationships, and dissolution of civil partnerships, single-sex relationships, and children’s issues.

Away from work, Helen lives in North Staffordshire with her two children, now young adults. She runs a little, enjoys coastal walks, films, theatre, music and reads anything from historical fiction to crime thrillers. She is on the PCC of her local church and plays the cornet in the training band of Trentham Brass. On tour with the band last year, she had the privilege of playing in the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate.
